Report card pick up is on Wednesday, June 30th, a.m. only. Please let the office know if you will not be dropping by the school to pick up report cards so that envelopes can be made up for mailing.

Day 4 - Thursday, June 24, 2010

One more day!

Students need to remember to bring book bags so that they can take home all the rest of the things that belong to them at school. Check the lost and found, too.

Tomorrow there is the tour over the noon hour of our "crop" on the land just west and north of Northwest Terminal. Cargill is providing the students with a hotdog lunch, if the weather permits.

We will be leaving at about 11:40 and returning by 1:00 p.m.

There has been some delays in the student clothing orders and I will update you on when they might be received in the next few days. Please continue to check this blog over the next while.

Day 4 - Wednesday, June 23, 2010

Two days left.
No homework and no exams.
Please make sure that you let the school know if you will not be picking up report cards on the morning of June 30th. They will be mailed at lunch time.

Kindly refer to the note in the newsletter about the lunch on Friday and (trip out to the field). Make sure your child is prepared for lunch depending on the weather.

Canadian Reader is due tomorrow morning.
Music Song Analysis needs to be finished.

Awards Day is tomorrow at 10:45 until noon. The 6's have been asked to dress up a bit.

Thursday, the 6's go to the airport right away in the morning. Come prepared for that.

Monday, June 21, 2010 - Day 2

Only 4 days left!! Tuesday is the Science test. Canadian Reader (social studies) is due for Wednesday morning. Have it here tomorrow in case you have time to work on it.

Drama presentations start on Wednesday and finish on Thursday.

Wednesday morning is Awards.

Some students still need to get their flight permission forms in to Miss Riddell.
Music Song analysis is due.

Students are asked to take home two or three things each day so that the load is far smaller by Friday.

We still have things to do, so don't start on summer vacation yet.

Wednesday, June 16, 2010 - Day 4

Well, we were very lucky with the weather holding off for our outdoor class trip. We had a great time at LBC today.

Don't forget to study for the Math test tomorrow.
Drama, Career Ed and Art vanishing points need to be done for Friday.
Library books are to be back at school and returned to the library on Friday. Don't be late.

Also, the French quiz is on Friday.

There is a lot happening these days, so stay on top of everything.

French - Friday - acquarium and 5 sentences must be done.
French Quiz on Poissons Friday the 18th, too.

Math - Step by Step 7 due Tuesday morning first thing.
Math Final Test on Thursday. A section of it may need to be finished on Friday.

Swimming for grade 4,5,6 on Tuesday. Come prepared.

Day 1 - Friday, June 11, 2010

Only 10 student days left!!

French - "acquariums" are due on Monday.

There is a Free BBQ lunch provided for all UPS students on Friday, June 18th. See the "green" note that was sent home in regard to this.

The 6's will have a cumulative review test on Thursday, June 17th in Math. Students were told to begin studying the Cumulative Review section questions from their text book as that is where the questions will be taken from. They should also brush up on large number addition, subtraction, multiplication and division - without the benefit of calculators.

The Class Trip is on Wednesday, June 16th.
UPS Awards Day is scheduled for the morning of June 23rd and school swimming is in the afternoon.

Day 6 - Thursday, June 10, 2010

A good but wet day today. The Relay for Life In Motion activity this afternoon helped to relieve the students of some pent up energy and raised some funds for Cancer Research.

The 6's have Math Step by Step 5 to complete for tomorrow.

Tomorrow we go over to the UCHS for the welcome newcomers orientation. It is during school hours and an information package will be sent home with each student. Make sure you have a look through it and contact the High School if you have any questions.

There are only 11 student days left this year.

Relay for Life UPS version - bring a $1.00 and dress in your team's theme.

Friday the 6's go over to the High School for an orientation from 10:45 to 11:45. I will accompany them.

Science paragraph is due Thursday. French - Sont ils compatible? also due on Thursday.

Math - Step by Step 2 and 3, plus the rest of the defining of Key Words is due tomorrow in the morning.

All Career Ed bar graphs must be completed by tomorrow's class - no excuses.

Make sure you bring a loonie for the Relay for Life - UPS mini version and dress for your team theme on Thursday.

With the promise of decent weather, the Track & Field Meet should go tomorrow. Please be prepared for whatever the weather may deliver throughout the day.

Class Trip permission forms with the actual schedule of events were sent home today. They need to be back at school no later than Tuesday, June 8th.

No other homework or tests at this time.

Even though I was away from the classroom today, there are still some reminders:

Math Test tomorrow - come prepared - ruler and protractor and well-rested, well-fed brain and body.

Book Orders are due tomorrow as are the Permission slips for the Rodeo Parade.

Career Ed Bar Graphs - good copies are to be done for next Wednesday - no delays.

School Tees orders were due today. If you really need to get your order in, please send me an email and I will hold sending the order until tomorrow.

Book orders are due on Thursday.

Math Show What You Know all questions is due for class tomorrow. Study for Math test on Thursday.

Science test tomorrow.

Rodeo Parade permission forms were sent home today. If you are riding a bike, roller blading or whatever in the UPS section of the parade, permission needs to be given to the school. The theme is Rider colors.
