The last school day of the week, almost the last day of the month. Time is flying by. Be sure, students to do up your cumulative review corrections for Monday and hand them in. Other than that, if you took your Ted Harrison Art home to finish - great!

Have a good long weekend. See you in February!

There is Science and Math for homework. Be sure you have it all finished up for tomorrow's classes.

Day 2 - Tuesday, January 26, 2010

We had a very special treat today. During our assembly this afternoon we had the special honor or having one of the Olympic Torch Bearers attend in her olympic gear with her torch. Ms. Lorna Fife spoke to the children about her experience and then answered questions. Students - tell your parents about "our" olympic rings.

Math - cumulative review questions on pages 122 & 123 need to be done to the end of question 11. There will be a bit of time given to finish off the review.

Music Test tomorrow - study, study.

Science take home work is due for Thursday.
Pizza lunch forms are due Thursday as are Craft Club forms.

Please make sure that your children are dressed for the weather. I was on outside supervision today and there were way too many children outside without proper clothing and footwear to keep them sufficiently warm.

It was a very busy. The 6's spent the entire afternoon researching Haiti. It was an intensive 2 and a half hours, but a great job was done and we have a wonderful bulletin board display in the main entrance of the school to showcase our efforts. Take time to have a look if you come to the school tomorrow for the "money line" fundraiser in the afternoon or drop in and see it whenever you have a chance. We hope it will stay up for a week or so, yet.

Music test tomorrow.
Math test Friday.

Skills Bank booklets are to be finished before the end of next week - so work on them every day.

Most importantly - bring whatever money you can spare for the money line tomorrow. It all goes to the Red Cross to help the people of Haiti.

If you are having trouble in an area, go back over that lesson. If you are still having problems, come to see me or get help from a fellow student.

Work on Skills Bank questions and get this booklet finished up as soon as possible and no later than Jan. 28th.

Thursday is the "money line" for Haiti Earthquake Disaster relief. Bring coins to donate. Refer to the letter sent home today about this important cause.

Students in grade 6 have been asked to find out at least 10 dates of important events in their lives so that they can create personal time lines. This has to be done at home as I would be unable to help them with this personal information.

Check in again tomorrow.

Day 2 - Friday, January 8, 2010

The students worked hard today in my classes. The process of long division with and without decimals is finally starting to come more easily and the students are getting more confident. Thanks for sticking with it.

Today, a Math assignment was given for pages 106 and 107. Students need to be finished to the end of question 8 for Monday. If they finish the whole assignment for Monday that is okay, too.

The students also have been given their final mapping assignment in Social Studies. They will have sufficient class time to get it done, however, it will have to be done for the end of class on Tuesday, so pacing is important.

Newsletters were emailed out today. A paper copy was sent with students who do not have email addresses supplied to the school.

Look for school clothing order forms which were sent home with your student today.

Book orders are due on Tuesday, Sub Lunch forms and money are due on Thursday and UPS Clothing Orders are due in on Friday.
