Day 4 - Friday, October 29, 2010

Happy Halloween to everyone.

The 6's worked on a Math assignment today in the Unit 2 on Exploring Large Numbers. Students were to complete the assigned questions on page 48 & 49. Students still need to finish up corrections in Unit 1 Math, as well.

There are still Science Reports to get done for Mrs. David.

Junior Genius work continues for Mr. English.

Be safe when you are out Trick or Treating.

Day 3 - Thursday, October 28, 2010

A few students still have Math corrections from the Unit 1. Two students have overdue Science reports for Mrs. David.

Health test tomorrow and Long Term Goal setting assignment is due tomorrow by noon.
Remembrance Day posters must be finished by end of day Friday.

Spirit Day on October 29th - no parties, costumes or masks - dress in orange and black.

Day 3 - Wednesday, October 27, 2010

The 6's have started a new unit in Math. At any opportunity, please read aloud and discuss the place values in large numbers. They will have to know about numbers beyond one million.
We will also be covering integers, multiples, factors, prime and composite numbers, order of operations.

There is a Health quiz on everything we have covered so far in Health Skills. The quiz is on Friday. Read over your entire duotang and make sure you understand the terminology.

There are a few students who have "old" Math corrections yet to do. A few students have Science reports past due.

Remembrance Day posters need to be worked on in spare time. They need to be finished for by the end of this week.

Photo retakes are Thursday morning.

Friday is ORANGE and BLACK spirit day - no costumes or masks, just colors.

Day 1 - Tuesday, October 26, 2010

Grade 6's are working on Remembrance Day Posters and Poems. These need to be finished by the end of Friday, as the Legion members will be picking them up from the school on Monday. Please work on these at home as well as school in order to make sure that your quality work can be handed in on time.

Craft Club is coming up on Thursday. Remembrance Day choir practiced today. We will try to have practices 3 times a week during noons in order to learn the song, plus making sure we know the words to lead O Canada and God Save Our Queen.

Photo retakes are on Thursday at 9:00 a.m.
Friday is orange and black spirit day.

There is a Health Skills quiz coming up on Friday. The students will learn more about it in tomorrow's class.

Day 6 - Monday, October 25, 2010

Math Test is done. However, one student was absent and will have to write the test before any results will be sent home. The test will not be sent home. The mark will be recorded in the Day Planner and if you wish to see the test, please contact me at the school to arrange a time to go over the test.

Craft Club $2.00 is due tomorrow.

School photo retakes are scheduled for Thursday, October 28th. Mrs. Roth will have a list of the new students who need photographs taken and any absent students who will have their photos taken. This will be done right at 9 a.m.

There will be an orange and black Spirit Day on Friday.

Last, but certainly not least important - dress properly for being outside in whatever weather comes our way.

Day 4 - Wednesday, October 20, 2010

Math Corrections and questions about concepts you need help on must be handled during tomorrow's Math class. So, study and review to find out where you have problems and make a clear note of the problem area. Test is on Monday.

Music tempo and rhythm page is due for next music class on Monday.

Science Longitude and Latitude assignment is over due by three students.

Report Cards are due tomorrow - I need 8 with the parent signed forms about Student Led Conferences.

Book Orders were sent home today for four different clubs. They are due on Monday. Please no lates. The next book orders will be late November, so if you want anything for Christmas that will be your last opportunity.

No school on Friday for students.

There was a bit of Math to be finished up in the Lesson 8. We will be reviewing tomorrow, doing corrections, and practicing types of questions that may appear on the test on Monday.

Report Cards are due back on Thursday. Thanks to the many who have returned theirs already.
VIP**Lamontagne Orders and money are due back at the school tomorrow - Tuesday, October 19th. Please, if the envelopes are sealed, be sure that the front is filled out so we know who has handed in and who has not.

There is a Math Unit test on Monday, October 25th. Start preparing now!

Day 1 - Friday, October 15, 2010

Lamontagne Fundraiser envelopes should be returned next week, so, finalize your selling this weekend.

Interim Report cards were sent home today. Please have a look at them, and before returning them to the school sign the designated spot at the back. Also, be sure to look for the bright colored letter about Student-Led conferences and return your willingness to participate with your child part of the letter along with the report card.

I would really like to have all of the report cards back by next Thursday, October 21st as there is no school on the 22nd and teachers will have to start preparing for Term One reports shortly.

There are a few assignments still unfinished by some grade 6's.

A math test is scheduled for the grade 6's on Monday, October 25th. Start studying Unit 1 now. If you have questions or problems, see me soon, not on the day of the test.

Math - corrections - everything up to and including page 35. Make sure assignments and dated, page numbers and question numbers are clearly marked and work is neatly done.

Health Goal Setting and chapter reading is to be done for tomorrow.

Two students need to finish their Science leaf classification - now late.

Social map assignment on latitude and longitude is due for Monday.

Look for Interim Report Cards coming home for grades 1 to 6 tomorrow. Please return them, signed in the appropriate place on the back as soon as possible. A letter about Student-led conferences is enclosed with the grade 6 report cards and will need to be acknowledged and returned with the report card itself.

It's Family time at the Book Fair today, from 4 until 7:30 p.m.

Math for homework for a few students - Understanding Equality - Practice page 35 #1, 2, 3, 4, 5 & Reflect.

Health Goal Setting page and reading of the remainder of the chapter handout for Friday.

Science leaf classification is due for class tomorrow.

All the photo packages for grade 6 were handed in on time - congratulations!

Math - Practice question #3 a & b and the Step by Step 6 page and coordinate grid is to be done for tomorrow. Check for and do up corrections from before.

Health - completing the Goals Setting page and reading the rest of the chapter p. 13 to the end is to be done for Friday.

Science is due Wednesday - Classificatoin assignment (leaves).

School Photo packages are due tomorrow.

Lamontagne Fundraiser envelopes of orders and payment are due on the 19th.

A paper copy of the newsletter went out again. Please check that you are also receiving it via email - check today or tomorrow and let Mrs. Roth know right away if you are not receiving it and should be.

Book Fair is on and family night is tomorrow. There is a great selection to choose from. Maybe you can get some "Christmas" shopping done.

School pictures packages need to be back at the school by Wednesday, October 13th. So, with the Thanksgiving weekend we only have tomorrow, Tuesday and Wednesday to get this taken care of.

Lamontagne Fundraising is going well, I hear.

Music CD project is due tomorrow for Mrs. May.

Science class has a quiz on classifying and students are to bring 4 leaves.

There are a few students with past due work and Math corrections to get caught up. Do it tonight and have a free conscience going into the long weekend.

Tuesday will be Day 4.

Math today was just instruction, but there are still some students who need to catch up old work and corrections. Please do them.

The Book Fair is coming to UPS Library next week - October 12, 13, 14. Family Night is Wednesday from 4 to 7:30. Information has been sent home today with your student(s).

There are a few students who may have a bit of Math to do on coordinate grids. p. 27 #7 and the Step by Step.

Science and Social assignments.

School Photo packages and Lamontagne Fundraising is to be kept on your radar. I hear good things about the amounts students have sold in the fundraising, already. School packages are coming in already, too.

Sorry for the lateness of this entry. The Internet was down after school today and I was not able to access this blog until now (from home).

Math - Practice questions #1,3,4 & 5 page 26 & 27 using and drawing Coordinate Grids (Cartesian Planes).

Science - green sheet - classifying is due for Wednesday.
There are other Science and Social assignments that are past due. Don't let it be you.

French Test tomorrow.

School Photos are due on or before October 13th. Lamontagne Fundraising is on-going. Please do your part and keep track of the end date.

Newsletters went home today. They will be sent via email from now on unless you contact Mrs. Roth to let her know your preference.

School picture proof envelopes went home today. Please read the information on the back of the envelope and make your selections. Then, calculate the correct amount of money owed and place it inside the envelope, seal it and send it back to school as soon as possible, but no later than October 13th - that's a Wednesday.

Enjoy the Fall Fair and Trade Show this weekend unless you are enjoying good harvesting.

French test on Tuesday to study for.

Social Studies and Science assignments are due.

CAT-4 testing continues next week, so please come to school well rested and well-fed, but do come to school.
