Math - work on the Cumulative Review pages 122 and 123. Try to have the first page of questions finished for tomorrow. You will have some class time Friday. You may work through Art class on Monday, but the questions must be finished neatly, well organized and accurate for noon on Monday. There will be no extensions. Manage your time. This is like an open book test and it will be marked as such and the results will be part of your Term 2 Report Card.

French - Commander sheet is due on Friday, Jan. 27th.

Science - communicate page 114 numbers 1 to 4 is due Monday.

We had an wonderful lunch today provided by the SCC. Thank you very much to those parents who did all of that work. We enjoyed the meal and the comraderie at the hall.

Practice your lines for your play grade 6. Tell your grade 3 buddies to practice their lines, too.

The Math tests were quite well done. Some students earned some very good marks. We started Unit 3 on Decimals today. Practice in using and understanding the place value of decimals and reading them as a fraction up to the millionths will be required and necessary to do well in this unit. Also, practice multiplying and dividing with decimals.

In Social - finish your timeline of evcents on the pink paper for Wednesday, the 14th.

Science Test tomorrow. Study!

Bring money for Kindergarten gingerbread house tickets. 3 for $0.25 or 12 for $1.00.

The SCC Christmas dinner is on Thursday, December 15th. A "pink" note went home about it.
The newsletter went out today. Please read it and note events that apply to you.

Thursday is also a "Christmas" spirit day. Look for posters explaining what to do.

I will be away tomorrow for a Library Committee meeting at Division Office request. I'll blog later or not until Wednesday.

Welcome to December!

Health - Dietary Definitions need to be done for Tuesday's Health class. Also, for Tuesday's class bring a food label for "junk" food and one for "healthy" food with the ingredients and nutrition parts intact.

Math - make sure that Exploring Integers corrections are done for tomorrow, along with questions 4, 5 and 9 (step by step8), plus the Integer Q and the Reflect notes for tomorrow's class. We have one more concept to cover on Friday and Monday and then, Tuesday is review and questions on the unit to prepare for the Unit 2 Math Test on Wednesday, December 7th.

It is November, the students are expected to go outside at the breaks, but they need to be dressed for the much cooler temps even though the sun is shining. Please remember to come prepared to be outside.

Parent-Teacher Interview forms should be back as soon as possible and definitely by Tuesday, November 1st if you want a say in when your time is scheduled with the teachers for November 8 and 9.

I apologize for the delay in this post. The internet was not working at school after 3:30 on Friday.

However, there is no school for students on Monday and Tuesday, October 24 & 25, as the staff is at a Professional Development in North Battleford. We are learning about all of the many new curricula that Sask Learning has developed.

Wednesday will be Day 5.

Math homework would include question 9 (Step by Step 1), #10, 11, 12, 13 and q's 14 and 15 were written as notes.

Remembrance Day posters must be finished and handed in to me no later than Thursday, October 27th.

The entire school body will be having a photograph taken on Thursday. Grade 6's are asked to wear black tops and pants.

There is a French test on the Days of the Week, Months of the Year (including correct spelling of them) on Friday, October 28th.

For Halloween on Monday, October 31st - students will once again be allowed to dress in their costumes starting at noon (after lunch is eaten). Students not wishing to wear a costume are encouraged to wear orange and black instead.

It is really important for the students to be dressing for the weather. They were outside today and found it rather chilly for how they were dressed. It's not summer any longer.

Education Week is next week as well as Bus Driver Appreciation. There are activities planned.

Welcome after a wonderful - weather long weekend.

End of Unit 1 Math Test is scheduled for Monday, October 17th. The next few classes will be spent making sure the students understand the concepts they will need to know. The marks for the mid-unit test should be in your Think n' Ink.

The newsletter went out today. Watch for important dates and upcoming events. October is a busy month with Bus Driver Appreciation week and Education Week next week, followed by a two day PD for staff. Then Halloween to round out the month. Soome students are working on Remembrance Day poems and posters and National Bus Safety contest posters.

Interim Report Cards are due back at the end of this week.

Science Communicate questions are due for tomorrow and Social Map of Zane is due on Thursday.

We had a very successful Terry Fox walk with about 35 to 40 seniors and other guests joining the students and staff on their walk. Then, the seniors and other guests enjoyed beverages and cookies and hopefully had a chance to view the school. There is some great artwork adorning our bulletin boards and walls. Come and visit us any time.

CAT-4 testing in Math and Language Arts continues.

School Photo packages must be returned to the school no later than October 4th. Please return the envelopes with the proof photos attached even if you are not ordering.

Social - Island contour is due on Friday.

Book Orders for October are due back on October 4th.

The UPS grade 4,5,6 soccer team will be playing the St. Peter's school team on Friday afternoon at 2:10. Then, the team will go to Cut Knife for their tournament on Tuesday, October 4th. They will be gone most of the day. You are welcome to come and cheer them on either day.

Please be aware that if your student requires an administration of medicine at school or any prescribed medical prodecure (ie: diabetes) there are important forms the School Division requires.

Math assignment from Monday needs to be finished up and handed in by 5 students who missed class time yesterday and today. Must be in on Wednesday by 8:45 a.m.

French Aquariums must be ready to present for next French class.

French Test is Thursday, June 16th.

Library books must be back to the Library by this Thursday. The library closes for inventory after June 9th.

The students will be visiting the RCMP and horses (for the Musical Ride) tomorrow morning.
Then, the SCC is hosting a BBQ burger and milk lunch for all students and staff. Students who do not wish to have a burger or milk must bring their own lunch.

Students must come prepared for being outside in the morning for an hour or more - jackets, insect repellent, hats, good sturdy footwear, etc.

Math - please have done for tomorrow questions #1 and #2 and have started the step by step 4 (question 3). These questions are for marks 10 + 10 + 5 and are to be done neatly, completely on the graph paper provided and on the Step by Step sheet. It will be handed in tomorrow at 11:15 a.m.

Overdue Library books and all other books must be back to the school by Thursday morning. The Library closes after Thursday for inventory.

The Awards Day is scheduled for Thursday, June 23 in the afternoon. Watch the newsletter for a firm date and also for swimming dates.

Math assignment to be done for Monday is questions #1, 2, 4(step by step 3) and 5. Question 3 was done in class together (if you were here).

Science test is on Monday - study hard and make sure you know what you need to know.

Educational trip to Blue Mountain tomorrow. Please be here in the classroom at 7:45. Check and double check that you have what you need for whatever weather we have and sufficient food and water for a physically active day. The bus will leave at 8:00 a.m. whether you are on it or not.
