We had "big time fun" for the UPS Olympics afternoon. Luge, Bobsleigh, Biathlon, Curling and Paralympic Sledge Hockey were enjoyed by 19 different countries.
It was great to see so many parents join us and help out with the hot dog lunch and the games afterward. Thank you.
No homework for grade 6 so that means you have extra time to memorize our poems.
Please be sure to have your student-led conference "purple" sheets completed and returned by Monday, March 1st - that's Monday. I will then be able to send out a note confirming your time and date selection.
Telemiracle Helping Hands are still available until Wednesday.
Have a great weekend.

Day 3 - Monday, February 22, 2010
Welcome back. I hope you had a good break. I don't see much of the grade 6's on Day 3 so I did not have a chance to find out how they spent their week off. Mine was extremely busy on school work, mostly, and at Convention.
The students have a Health assignment due for Friday morning.
Students should also make a concerted effort to memorize the first 8 stanzas of our two poems for Music Festival. Our time to practice as a group will be to focus on expression and enunciation not learning the words.
Also, there are Telemiracle Helping hands available for purchase at the school for $1.00 each. Teachers have them in their classrooms.

We had a busy day. The students seemed somewhat subdued this morning after the day of curling.
Health Skills work to be completed for next class - four definitions.
Students need to start memorizing the first 8 stanzas of the two poems we are doing for the Music Festival in April. The poems are called Mrs. Stein by Bill Dodds and If You're Not From the Prairie by David Bouchard. Both of these poems can be found on-line so it should be easy for you to work on this over the break - even if you don't have the paper copy with you.
One more day before the break!!
