Sub Lunch is on December 1st, so if you ordered a while ago, this is the day. Meals on Wheels starts that day, too.

Study for Math - test on Tuesday.

Have a great "green" weekend. Go Riders!!

Day 6 - Thursday, November 19, 2009

No school tomorrow as the Division allows the schools to choose a day off in lieu of the parent teacher interview evenings we have just had. So, we hope every "school" person enjoys the day off.

There are a few students who have Math corrections to catch up. We have been making a huge effort to get old mistakes fixed up as we will be having a Math test on this current unit of work late next week or early the following. It would be a good idea to start reviewing the chapter now so that you don't have to cram later.

Book orders for December went home today - Arrow and the Gift Books (again). They are due next Thursday. That way if you want something in time for Christmas we will have plenty of time to get it here.

Have a good weekend.

Day 4 - Tuesday, November 17, 2009

The students are excited about the upcoming Volleyball Tournament tomorrow in Wilkie. We remind all student representing our school that their best behavior and most responsible attitude is very important, as it is a direct reflection on our school and the parents.

Students have been working very hard on catching up Math corrections. Keeping up with corrections on a daily basis would prevent the large amount that has accumulated for some students. Time management is an important skill.

Again, sub lunch forms are due on Thursday. Craft Club forms went out and are also due back on Thursday. Craft Club will be Tuesday, November 24th.

Parents and Students: If you have viewed this blog, please send me an email to let me know.
Thanks.

Day 2 - Friday, November 13, 2009

We are glad to have back so many students who have been out sick. We were only missing 3 today. Hopefully everyone will be healthy by the end of the weekend and school life can get back to normal.

Math assignment today is page 72 1 all, 2, 3, 4 a,c,e,g (answers only), 5 b,d,f,h,j and 6 all. Be sure to show all of your work and all the steps. Organize your page well and double space.

Miss Riddell still needs some students to write Science.

Report Cards are going home today. Please look through them. There are also a number of inserted pages with report cards. They are important, too. The bright pink sheet has to come with you to interviews with me so that I can get your opinion quickly. Please bring Report Cards to interviews.

Sub Lunch forms have gone out. Please get your student's order in by the due date.

Have a good weekend.

Tuesday, November 10, 2009

Day 6 - Tuesday, November 10, 2009

Another day with only half the class. Hopefully the extra day off tomorrow will help a few more students get on the mend and be able to come back to school to stay for a good long time.

We worked on Order of Operations (introduction) in Math and the Step by Step 7. The Science Test was written by those present. The rest of the students will be doing the test whenever Miss Riddell can have the majority of students back.

Make sure you bring back all of your books and texts when you do return. Try really hard to have most of the work done. Catching up the correcting will take some time too.

Report Cards go home on Friday. If you are not able to be at school, please arrange for someone to pick up your work and Report Card.

Assembly on Thursday morning. We will be honoring the Bus Drivers.

Take care of yourselves and rest up.

Grade 6 has a Science exam on Tuesday, November 10th.

Math assignment and 100's chart (prime & composite numbers shaded) and old corrections done correctly is due tomorrow at 9 a.m.

We have many students out sick, so be vigilant. Keep your hands clean and keep your hands and your school tools organized so that you don't have to borrow from anyone. Cover coughs and sneezes and stay at home if you are sick, please.

Wednesday, November 4, 2009

Day 2 - Wednesday, November 4, 2009

The Math corrections got in the way of many students getting much done on the Math Assignment. Math corrections are the student's responsibility and if they need help, it is their responsibility to see me prior to class or at a recess, prior to Math class, to get help. So, as a result, some students have a lot of Math work to do for tomorrow. They are have done up to and including question 10 on the assigned questions on page 65 & 66, as well as having all corrections done.

Doing corrections as soon as they occur will alleviate this problem.

H1N1 needles will now be given on Monday. Forms must be back tomorrow for Public Health to pick up and work with on Friday.

We also need parent-teacher interview forms back by Friday.

Thank you for all the attention to your child's school work and the multitude of forms that have been coming home lately.

Tuesday, November 3, 2009

Day 1 - Tuesday, November 3, 2009

It sure is nice weather now. Enjoy it while you can.

We still need a lot of H1N1 forms back. They are due tomorrow. Keep the Parent-Teacher interview forms coming in. You only need to select the day that is best for you.

Students have Math corrections only.

School picture retakes are tomorrow. If you are on the list, you will be called to go over to the High School at the appropriate time.

A newsletter went home today. There are lots of important things to take note of, so please give it a read and highlight or write things down so you don't forget.

Monday, November 2, 2009

Day 6 - Monday, November 2, 2009

Please make sure you give your parents the Parent-Teacher Interview forms so that they can select the time and day that is most suitable for them to attend interviews. This form must be back by Friday.

We still need a lot of the H1N1 forms back - Wednesday is the deadline.

Also, book orders are due tomorrow.

There is a bit of Math which students may have for homework. Page 62 questions 12, 14, 15 & the Reflect. Also, get your corrections done up.

That's all for now.
